Q. Can I smoke at Parkside Lodge?

A. Parkside Lodge is a smoke free building, this includes all our guest rooms. Smoking is permitted outside the Courtyard Rooms or in the BBQ area. Penalties apply for smoking in rooms.

Q. Was this building always a lodge?

A. Actually this site does have a rich and interesting history. The building was built in the early ’90’s as part of the Parkside Hospital complex. The rooms were luxury recovery rooms for elective procedures and re-constructive surgery. The hospital closed over 10 years ago and in the absence of interested developers for a similar purpose, the first owners, Sateesh and Prue Krishnayya, used their hotel background to thoughtfully transform the rooms and facilities to the cosy, stylish, and affordable lodge you see today. Some features do still remain – such as the wide corridors, double doors, and disabled facilities – but these only accentuate the levels of comfort on offer.
Q. Do you have ghosts?
A. Unfortunately you will not see the likes of Casper or Slimer gracing our hallways, not only was it not that kind of hospital, we cannot afford for our sheets to go missing.
